Mary Alice Dixon’s poem "They Call Me Crone, But I Know I'm An Old Woman Seizing Her Power" has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize by Gyroscope Review. Her short story "Coaltown Valley Blues, the Almost Happy Life of a Fat Four-Eyed Freak," a story of synesthesia laced with Pennsylvania coal dust, has been selected for Volume 3 of the Northern Appalachia Review. Her story "The Guilty Hat and a Traveler's Mistake," is in the Fall 2021 Personal Story Publishing Project Anthology "Trouble." The "Hat" is a true tale describing Mary Alice’s humiliation when she accidentally crashed a funeral in France and was accused of wrongs she did not commit.
