In 2010, Tracy Himes began writing a local column in the Concord/Kannapolis Independent Tribune newspaper, titled “In H.O.P.E. - In Honor of Planet Earth”, covering environmental issues, wellness advocacy, local news and current events. Her first book, an electronic recycling resource, Think Outside The Bin:  Discard Your Common Household Items, Help Your Neighbor, Help Your Earth, was transformed into blog form (www.thinkoutsidethebin.com) and continues to get daily visitors.

Currently serving on the Charlotte Writer’s Club Board and a member of the NC Writer’s Network, Tracy often attends local writing workshops and conferences and recently won a scholarship to the Tinker Mountain Writers’ Workshop at Hollins University in June 2015, based on the merit of a submitted portion of her upcoming memoir. Visit her website at www.TracyHimes.com for more information.
